The creation of print data and the correct delivery of the print data is not easy. So that your files can be processed ideally, we have created information for you on how to set up your data.

What file types do we process?

We process:

+ Print PDF in high resolution at least in the "X-4:2010" standard.

Adobe Creative Suite open typesetting files up to the latest version:

+ Indesign (.indd, .idml)

+ Illustrator (.ai, .art)

+ Photoshop (.psd)

Please also enclose all images, logos and fonts used and a small preview PDF for layout control.

Files created with other applications should be in tif, jpg, or eps format. 

Choose the resolution

Graphics and scans should be created in the correct resolution. Save graphics and images to be placed in open typesetting files at 80 to 100 dpi resolution relative to the output size. 

Choose the right color space and integrate a color profile

If possible, please create graphics and images in CMYK or RGB mode. ICC color profiles should also be integrated into these for correct reproduction. If you want us to process open typesetting files, it is best to save the placed image material as a TIFF, JPG or EPS(-jpg). Please make sure to include these files when sending the data.

Convert or embed fonts

If you use fonts in open typesetting files, either convert them to paths or include the character set files.

What do I have to consider with progressions?

In the common graphics programs, color gradients are created using special gradient tools or palettes. Depending on the complexity and spread of the start and target colors, the gradients generated in this way can lead to a stepped display in the print. Note: In order to get the best possible result, you can rasterize the elements in question at 80 dpi in relation to the final size and then add noise at an intensity of 2% to 3%.

The data format and bleed

If possible, please create your print documents with a reproduction scale of 1:1, i.e. as large as they are to be printed. Define a 2 cm bleed all around. In the case of scaled-down formats, the reduction factor for trimming and image resolution must be taken into account. Please hand over the files without color, crop and printing marks.

Naming the files

Name your files clearly and without using special characters or umlauts. The file name must include a project name, the format size and the relevant extension, e.g. E.g. ".TIF" (maximum 64 characters).
