Trade Fair Construction FAQ

Why is CCS the perfect partner for trade show booth construction?

CCS is the right partner for textile printing in trade show construction because we understand exactly what trade show builders, agencies, and brands need: tight deadlines, complex logistics, custom-fit systems, changing designs, and high standards for quality, sustainability, and impact.
In trade show construction, every detail must work perfectly. Printed textiles must be ready on time, fit precisely into the frames, feature vibrant colors, and be positioned correctly during setup without requiring any rework. That’s exactly why CCS produces high-quality trade show prints and custom textile stretching frames—including, upon request, material consulting, print data checks, assembly, project management, and shipping.
This way, you’ll not only get printed fabrics, but also an experienced production partner for your trade show booth.

What is textile printing for trade show booths?

Textile printing for trade show booths refers to large-format, printed textiles used for trade show walls, backdrops, LED frames, ceiling hangers, tension frames, and modular trade show systems.
SEG systems are often used for this purpose. SEG stands for “Silicone Edge Graphic.” In this process, a piping is attached all around the edge of the printed fabric, which is then pressed into the groove of an aluminum frame. This tensions the fabric, smooths out the design, and creates a high-quality, wrinkle-free surface.
After use, the fabric can be removed from the frame, folded for storage, and reused as needed or replaced with a new design. CCS produces fabric prints for front-lit, backlit, and blockout applications.

What types of textile prints are suitable for a trade show booth?

For trade show booths, textile prints are particularly well-suited for front-view surfaces, backlit panels, and opaque blockout applications. Dye-sublimation printing is particularly well-suited for many trade show applications. In this process, the ink is fused into the fibers of the fabric using heat. This results in durable, vibrant prints that are less susceptible to abrasion, resistant to color fading, and well-suited for repeated use. The CCS team will advise you on selecting the right material for your application, lighting conditions, system, and intended duration of use.

Does CCS also build trade show booths?

CCS is not a traditional trade show booth builder, but it produces textile prints, textile stretching frames, and custom framing solutions for trade show booths. In addition to high-quality trade show prints, CCS manufactures its own SEG framing system, fabric frame®. The frames are custom-made to order and, depending on the project, can be used as wall solutions, freestanding structures, LED frames, custom shapes, or as part of a modular trade show booth. To meet specific requirements, the in-house production facility also creates custom structures according to customer specifications. Furthermore, CCS fabric frames® can be combined with many common trade show construction systems.

Can CCS provide prints for bematrix, Octanorm, or Aluvision?

CCS provides perfectly tailored prints for all standard trade show display systems, such as bematrix, Octanorm, Aluvision, Syma, and many others. CCS has particular expertise in bematrix: As a bePartner Printed Textiles, CCS produces precisely fitting textile prints for bematrix frames and understands the requirements for dimensional accuracy, piping, tension, material, and print quality. To ensure your prints fit perfectly in the respective system, CCS needs the correct frame dimensions, system information, and print data. If you have any questions, our prepress team will assist you with verification and preparation.

What data does CCS need for trade show booth prints?

For trade show booth graphics, CCS needs the dimensions of the surfaces to be covered, information about the frame system, the intended use, the desired material, and print data..
The following are particularly helpful:

  • Width and Height of the Printing Area
  • Frame system used, such as Bematrix, Octanorm, or Aluvision
  • Applications, such as frontlit, backlit, blockout, or custom fabrication
  • Desired finishing, such as keder, grommets, Velcro, or hemstitching
  • Number of designs and prints
  • Exhibition date or setup date
  • print-ready data in the appropriate format

The CCS experts will review your data and assist you with data entry, material selection, and technical coordination.

Are the prints suitable for LED frames and backlit applications?

Yes, CCS produces specialized backlit prints for LED frames, light boxes, and backlit exhibition booth displays. Backlit prints are designed for applications in which the image is illuminated from behind. This results in particularly vibrant colors, strong contrasts, and a high-quality visual impact from a distance at the exhibition booth.
CCS offers a variety of materials for light boxes and LED frames. Your representatives will help you choose the right fabric and provide fabric samples if needed.

Welche Konfektionierungen sind möglich?

CCS offers all standard finishing options for textile prints in trade show construction, including piping, grommets, Velcro, hemstitching, edge reinforcement, concealed seams, and custom solutions. Typical finishing options include:

  • Keder for SEG and tension frame systems
  • Eyelets for Banners and Hangings
  • pole pocket for rod or tube systems
  • Hook-and-loop tape for modular fastenings
  • Edge reinforcements for greater stability
  • Custom cuts for openings, doors, curves, or, for example, pillowcases

Our in-house sewing department creates the desired finish to suit the system, application, and installation requirements.

Can existing trade show booth frames be covered with new graphics?

Yes, in many cases, existing trade show booth frames can be covered with new fabric prints, provided that the dimensions, system, and construction details are known. This is particularly useful for recurring trade show appearances, seasonal campaigns, new product launches, or brand relaunches. Instead of rebuilding the entire trade show booth from scratch, existing frames can be reused and only the graphics replaced. CCS produces custom-fit replacement prints for existing tension frame systems. The exact frame dimensions, the system used, and the desired finish are important.

What sustainable textiles are available for trade show booths?

For trade show booths, CCS offers a variety of more sustainable textiles and material options, including PVC-free materials, textiles made from recycled PET, and NewCycle textiles for textile-to-textile recycling. Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in trade show construction because many trade show prints are used for only a limited time. Reusable systems, interchangeable graphics, and recyclable or circular materials can help ensure a more conscious use of resources. Among other things, CCS offers materials for frontlit, backlit, and blockout applications. NewCycle textiles, which are designed for a textile-to-textile recycling process, represent a unique solution. This allows certain textiles to be returned to the textile material cycle after use. The sustainable material option best suited for your trade show project depends on the application, lighting, fire safety requirements, duration of use, and desired effect.

What is the process for requesting prints for a trade show booth?

At CCS, a request for trade show booth graphics is handled in several steps: submitting project information, clarifying technical details, reviewing print data, producing the graphics, assembling them, and delivering them. The process:

  1. Request a project
Please send your request to CCS, including details about the trade show date, system, dimensions, application, and desired delivery date.
  2. Clarify technical details
Your contact person will address any questions you may have regarding the frame system, materials, assembly, quantity, and timing.
  3. Receive offer
Based on the information you provide, CCS will prepare a quote for printing, materials, assembly, and shipping.
  4. Send print data
You send us your print files. The prepress department checks the format, resolution, bleed, color profile, and technical requirements.
  5. Production starts
Once approved, the textiles are printed, calendered, cut to size, and sewn.
  6. Shipping or Collection
The finished trade show prints are carefully packaged and shipped to you, your customers, your workshop, or directly to the trade show. Since our production facility is located near Messe Düsseldorf, you can also pick them up in person.

What are the delivery times for trade show prints?

The turnaround time for trade show prints depends on the scope, material, finishing, data quality, and desired delivery location. In general, CCS tailors the turnaround times for textile prints to your specific needs. If you need your prints particularly quickly, please contact your account manager early on to discuss a rush order. Depending on workload, material availability, and project scope, short-notice production and courier delivery may be possible. To provide a realistic estimate, CCS should receive the following information as early as possible:

  • Desired delivery date
  • Exhibition date or setup date
  • Dimensions and Number of Prints
  • Preferred Material
  • Confections
  • Available Print Data
  • Desired delivery place

This will allow the team to determine which production and shipping options are available for your trade show project.
